Elliott

My introduction to music was the study of accordion at the old B# Music school and followed up by training with Mr. Guttman, in St. Laurent. I played in many bands throughout high school, but accordion just didn't cut it with rock. Later, I took over the drumming from late high school and throughout university, playing at many events with my St. Laurent buddies. When I heard a live band playing at the Ritz for a high school grad, with a guy on Hammond organ and a Leslie speaker, it all changed for me. I bought a small combo organ with pedals and started playing old fashion waltzes and sambas.

Now here I am many bands later playing rock organ. There is nothing like it in the world to open at Place des Arts with the haunting opening cries of the organ and Leslie speaker on "Gimme Some Loving" by Steve Winwood to make one feel that he has arrived. I would do it again in a minute, over and over.

I have been part of Switchback in its various forms for over four years. Our band is about having fun, loving what we play, for ourselves and those who choose to listen to us. We all pride ourselves on the community-oriented events we participate in.

There are many bands out there doing their thing; Our "Thing " is, we love working on perfection. I live in Montreal not far from all the Freds, I am the father of 3 children, whose ages total about 70, and I am happily married to Sheryl, my first "Groupie".
